For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to sing. Little did I know what God had in store for me...
I grew up in Eastern Kentucky listening to the greats of southern gospel music that included...The Nelons, The Hinsons, The Hoppers, The Happy Goodmans, and the list goes on.
I began singing with my parents, Rev. Dave Bevins Jr and Joanna at the age of 3 in church. We traveled throughout OH, KY and WV.
At the age of 9, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and was privileged to have my father baptize me.
1981 - I started traveling and playing the piano for a regional group from Louisa KY. We were blessed to minister in song with such groups as The Adkins Family from WV and The Spencers from OH. I remained with the group until 1986 when group members were moving in other ministry directions.
1988 - My family and I moved from Louisa KY to Columbus OH.
1992-2004 - I traveled with a regional group from Gahanna OH. My duties included vocalist, piano player and bass player. During my tenure with them, we had the opportunity to be in concert along with such artists as The Perrys, The Comptons, The Hoskins, Mike Bowling and The Crabb Family.
2005 - A time of change and growth in the Lord. In December 2005, I sang for the first time as a solo artist. What a great evening it was! It marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life and in my music ministry. I had the Lord on my side and HE was opening doors that I could never open on my own.
2007 - I released my first solo project, "Many Riches Have I". The title song "Many Riches Have I" and "Be At Peace" was released nationally via Caraway Media Group's "Radioactive Airplay!". In July, 2007, "Many Riches Have I" debuted at #2 on the Southern Gospel Chart. In October, 2007, "Many Riches Have I" charted at #4 on the Country Gospel Chart. "Be At Peace" reached the #2 position on the Southern Gospel Chart in December, 2007. It is a blessing to know that folks are enjoying what they hear and that lives are being touched in a positive way.
2008 - The ministry continues to grow and God continues to open doors. "He Changed My Life", my third single from the "Many Riches Have I" project, is released via Caraway Media Group's "Radioactive Airplay!" in June. It is the 3rd single from this project to chart in the Top 5 of the 100 Chart. Thank you Radio!!!!
2009 - My second solo project, "My Refuge" is completed and has been released. The first single "My Refuge" has been released via Caraway Media Group's "Radioactive Airplay!". June 12 - "My Refuge" goes to #2 on the Radioactive Airplay! Top 100 Chart.
This was my first year to participate in Gospel Music conventions. I was a part of the SGM Fanfair in Pigeon Forge TN and The First Branson Gospel Music Convention! My family and I had a wonderful time and look forward to 2010!
2010 - My second release from the project "My Refuge" has been released via www.radioactiveairplay.com. "River of Mercy" tells the story of God's love for us. I am thankful for the river of mercy that flows for me!
